Stones and Rubble, 2015-2017
Acrylic Perspex, mdf, fabric, stones, bricks, cement, wood and an iron nail
Video: 16:45 sec
Stones and Rubble is the project realised in the aftermath of the earthquake that occurred on 25th April 2015, killing thousands and affecting many of Nepal’s sacred national heritage sites with their sacred and various livelihoods.
It explores the local and national ruins in large and small scale; human and physical structures; the systematic failures of mismanagement and the detrimental impact of urbanisation on major urban centres, brought into sharp-relief by the 2015 earthquake.
The video installation was further investigated during the Summer Lodge Art Residency at Nottingham Trent University, 2017.
